So we have a new website from Ryan Trecartin, the video artist known for a signature brand of seizure inducing internet schlock, and that guy from Tumblr David Karp. Its called riverofthe.net. Theres a nice little review of it here by Lauren Christiansen thatll fill you in if your interested in the politics of the gesture by such an established artist(whatever). It kinda feels like Trecartin is all "this is important" but it's actually just a site that's sorta fun and not much else.
